Erasmus - Procedures for Student Mobility
The University of Rijeka joined the Erasmus programme in 2009 and since then has signed over 400 Erasmus bilateral agreements with universities from the majority of EU countries. This cooperation includes students and staff exchange. Students from European universities that have signed the Erasmus Bilateral Agreement with the University of Rijeka may spend one or two semesters studying at our University.
The Faculty of Health Studies is at the moment holder of sixteen Erasmus Bilateral Agreements. Since 2014 the Faculty has been organizing Erasmus exchange for studies in cooperation with the University of Rijeka and all the procedures of the University of Rijeka should be followed - link.
INCOMMING PROCEDURE - ERASMUS MOBILITY FOR STUDIES
Incoming Erasmus students for studies should be officially nominated by their home Erasmus coordinator. After being nominated for Erasmus exchange, Erasmus students should upload the Application Form and all relevant documents to UNIRI Erasmus Application Form database and follow all the instructions which are on the web pages of the University Rijeka for Incoming Erasmus Students.
Application deadlines:
10th June for the winter semester/whole academic year
10th November for the summer semester
Academic calendar:
1st semester (winter): beginning of October – end of January
2nd semester (summer): beginning of March – end of June
Examination period: February, end of June, beginning of July

The Faculty of Health Studies does not offer courses in English language at the moment. All courses held at the Faculty are in Croatian language, but students can get the recommended study literature in English and can have their exams in English language. ERASMUS MOBILITY FOR TRAINERSHIP
Students who would like to come to the Faculty of Health Studies, University of Rijeka for traineeship should send request to the Erasmus coordinator of the Faculty of Health Studies, Professor Štefica Dvornik, (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), in which they should briefly explain where and when they would like to have their traineeship, as well as the occupation (nurse, physiotherapist, midwife, radiological technologist). Students should fill in the Application Form for Traineeship, which should also be signed by the Erasmus coordinator of their own faculty.

ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation for the ERASMUS+ grant holders and others is NOT provided by the Faculty or University. HEALTH INSURANCE
HEALTH INSURANCE AND MEDICAL CARE: During your stay in Croatia, as an international student (and other staff members) you must have health insurance.
The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC): International students who have the European Health Insurance Card may use health care services upon presentation of the card and submission of the printout copy of the card, if other instructions are not given according to the Croatian legislation in force.

Any visa related costs are not covered by the scholarship grant.

REGULATING YOUR STAY IN CROATIA (Registration of temporary stay)
EU CITIZENS -
Mobility period shorter than 90 days: Since Croatian accession to the European Union, EU citizens are no longer obliged either to apply for the approval for temporary stay or to register their address if they are staying in the Republic of Croatia shorter than 90 days.
Mobility period longer than 90 days: EU citizens who plan to stay in the Republic of Croatia for more than 90 days are obliged to apply for the registration of temporary stay for the purpose of studies.
NON-EU CITIZENS -
Mobility period shorter than 90 days: Upon your arrival in Croatia, within 48 hours you have to register your address in Croatia at the Foreigners' Office of the relevant Police Administration Office (Odsjek za strance, Policijska uprava). For scholarship holders who are staying at student dormitories (or hotels) the address is automatically registered with the City Police Department.
Mobility period longer than 90 days: Non-EU citizens staying in the Republic of Croatia for more than 90 days are obliged to apply for the issuance of the approval of temporary stay for the purpose of studies within 90 days of the arrival at the Foreigners' Office of the relevant Police Administration Office(Odsjek za strance, Policijska uprava).
